Great Jervais is one of the communities on the southcoast that surcome to the Smallwood relocation program, it was the birthplace of Robert Crant, Patrick Farrell, Silas Hull, Samual Allen, John Penny, Francois LeRoix and Joseph Willcott, as listed in Lovell's 1871 guide.
